Turn-based Dwarven Roguelike. Can you deal with the swarms the dwarves unleashed since They Dug Too Deep?
Description
Players take control of a dwarf who “said ‘not me’ slowest” and is sent down to determine (and deal with) what was released by the dwarves digging too deep, be that goblins and zombies, giant acid spewing rat bosses, or worse. Gameplay is divided into depths/levels. Each level is a randomly generated tile-based grid filled with obstacles, enemy spawners, treasure, a hole leading deeper, and one hard-to-find winch needed to descend down that hole. Play is turn-based so enemies and projectiles only move when the player does. |
Mischief and Mayhem Studios
Mischief and Mayhem Studios was started by Alexander Goldberg in Summer of 2020. The studio develops small to medium independent games that focus on engaging game loops for players on PC platforms. Mischief and Mayhem Studios relies on a variety of reliable and consistent contractors to produce their games. Mischief and Mayhem Studios is a remote studio, eschewing a brownstone in favor of flexibility for its contractors. Game Story Dwarves have long mined the mountain they live in. Ever down, ever for greater wealth. Dangers have always been present, from fungal spores that zombify dwarves, to clans of angry feral goblins. The giant spiders and cave crawlers were dangerous, but manageable. But now…now the dwarves have released something. But what else would you expect, since… They Dug Too Deep. |
Weapon Examples:
While players initially start with the cargo hauler, they can unlock other Arks through gameplay. Each Ark has its own playstyle.
Crystal Scatter Gun
The Scatter Gun is the defensive tool of choice for a dwarf. It fires a spread of crystal shards at high velocity. Any modification, up to and including scratching of paint, is not endorsed by its manufacturer and voids the warranty.
Nitro Launcher
A modified pellet bow used to hurl vials of nitroglycerin. While powerful, these vials have minimal penetration ability and a drill launcher or dynamite serve better for digging. Check out the lawn dart version, “The Goblin Pinner,” coming soon in the Miner’s Guild fall catalog.
Harpoon Gun
Launches spears attached to a powerful motor. Is a royal pain to reload. DO NOT USE AS MOBILITY AID (to use as a mobility aid, point and shoot. The harpoon will pull you toward whatever it hits).
Lightning Gun
A wonder of modern technology, the Lightning Gun uses an acid battery and hand crank to generate an electric projectile. The lightning is highly charged and will jump between nearby targets! Keep out of reach of children.
Enemy Examples:
Goblin
These….things. If you could sum them up in one word it would be “idea”. Specifically, a bad one. Their creation was a bad idea and they aim to embody that with every action they take.
Cave Crawler
A multi-legged millipede-like creature that feeds on fungus and dead things. Not very intelligent, but can spit deadly acid from powerful glands!
Rock Blender
Used to mine through large amounts of soft rock. Originally. Now it is going haywire.
Demon
A horned and buff being released after digging too deep. It is immune to heat and can launch fireballs!
Giant Mutant Rat
A twisted abomination of flesh and alchemy that serves as a level boss. It spews copious amounts of acid and is resistant to explosive damage.
